The GAIC Democracy
Engagement and Citizen Participation Center is the matrix for the Greater
Augusta's Interfaith Coalition core operations. The GAIC Democracy
Engagement and Citizen Participation Center promotes the whole citizen
engagement and community participation in an effort to ensure peoples' presence
in all affairs of the Community and Civic Living. The GAIC Democracy
Engagement and Citizen Participation Center operates in the following local and
grassroots manner:
:1. US Census Education, Promotion, and Gathering of Citizens for Reporting
2. Redistricting 23, A 23 County
Redistricting Operation to ensure minority representation and participation in
the drawing of voting districts locally, statewide and congressional
3. GET-OUT-TO VOTE Initiatives and
Community Educational Forum Forums and Events - knowledge of candidates and
voting initiatives
4. Election Protection NOW Initiative for
All Voters - ensure voting access and polling place protection for voters
5. Your Power Vote Initiative for
Minority, Poor and Disenfranchised Community to get excited about voting and
vote
6. Adopt A Precinct initiative, A drill
down operations to encourage local initiatives, education and voting in local
elections and on ballot proposals
7 . Young Voters and Environmentally
Charged Initiative that concentrate on voters 18-40 to get involved and
participate in community affairs' and voting
8. GAIC Youth Enrichment Academy - GAICYEA - is
an educational initiative to start early shaping minds to include a purposeful
civic exposure in the educational process for youths 6-15 years of age
9. GAIC Seniors Up Initiative, is to support
seniors in election education and voting
10. GAIC Community Development Initiative,
collaborate with other agencies, groups and initiatives to improve civic
engagement and citizen participation
11. GAIC Offenders Return Now Initiative
seek to re-engage ex-offenders back into society and encourage citizen
engagement and citizen participation
